Is Pink’s song U + Ur Hand an anthem for attractive lesbians, frigid straights or just osgasmically challenged women in general? How do men feel about the song’s allegation?
While I love a female singer who can belt out a song like that, the lyrics are awful.
Are some temple vows another forbidden fruit? Can violating temple covenants be transgression, rather than sin?
When I received the temple endowment one of the covenants was no sexual intercourse outside of legal marriage. In today’s “simplified endowment” this is changed to no sexual relations outside of legal marriage, a significantly tougher challenge, unless Bill Clinton is the one defining “sexual relations”. In any case, both the old and new versions are a stiff (no pun intended) challenge to a young single with high libido who on the spot went with the flow and made the covenant which is presented w/o advanced warning and no three day attorney review clause.
Personally, as someone who fell off the LofC wagon post mission, I know how hard it is to stay on that wagon, particularly when you’re not feeling good about how your mission ended and a voluptuous young BYU coed is begging you to please and enjoy her. I threw in the LofC towel, as have many others. What followed was a string of superficial relationships and a son I only learned about a few years ago. In my mind back then there was no place in the church for a person like me, so I ex’ed myself so to speak.
But eventually that sorry path lead to a relationship with my active LDS wife-to-be who replaced a live-in gf, reentry into the church, marriage to my soulmate of 27 years and five great kids. We’ve been blessed.
Eve and Adam made a choice to defy G-d and partake of the forbidden fruit which in turn brings on the human race on earth, growth through earthly struggles and the need for a redeemer who can make us right again with G-d, something we can’t do for ourselves. It is said that Adam and Eve transgressed for a greater good, not sinned. Does G-d set up forbidden fruit for each of us, knowing and expecting we will do the opposite for possibly a greater good?

According to recent press reports, the FLDS consummate their marriages in their Temple. Is this something peculiar to the modern FLDS, or was this a practice in early Mormonism that the FLDS have preserved? Are/were witnesses involved? Has any reader consummated an LDS Temple? (presumably clandestinely w/o a bed).
I was hoping thirty years after the priesthood ban lifted that Monson would break the color barrier in our top leadership and the Q of the 12 would begin to look like the church at large. Maybe he tried and BKP wouldn’t go along?
Am I the only one embarrased by photos of 15 white guys leading our church?

I encourage all to earnestly pray daily for the health of President Monson. While unlikely Pres Monson will be the great reformer to bring on the second coming by bringing us back to the original intent of the WofW (preaching it as a good practice rather than a requirement), it’s a even money bet Pres Monson will further simplify our temple liturgy and send the silly Gs the way of the dodo bird once stick-in-the-mud Pres Packer goes on to his eternal reward. For those who scoff, I predicted two piece G’s and simplified temple liturgy years before those changes. The reforms are inevitable, may Monson be the guy to do it.

It’s understandable that the Mitt Romney campaign inspires dimwitted religious bigots to come out of hiding, but why do supposedly educated Christians cite the end of the Book of Revelation as refuting Mormonism when it’s just the mantra of a moron spouting off as if the complete Bible just fell from the sky straight off G-d’s press? Many anti-Mormons know far too much about the Bible to be making such a silly argument, yet you see and hear it over and over again. Why use intellectually dishonest arguments like that when there are so many good ones at hand? Do you have to be Mormon to know where the real soft spots are? Are they afraid of honestly attacking Mormonism because they would then question their own belief system? Are all rigid belief systems the antithesis of faith so religious bigots of faith are forced to take the low road against other beliefs to maintain their faith? Please help an open minded unorthodox Mormon understand. Perhaps it all boils down to hatred, hence why plausible and rational arguments against modern Mormonism are so rare?

Every failed politician has their epitaph. Colon Powell had his “Rockefeller Republican” moment. Biden’s was “first clean Black”. This is Romney’s. The best hope for a serious Mormon presidential candidate in two generations goes down in a whimper a year before the primarys. Sad.
One of my rants is Mormons misusing the word addiction, like spouting off absurd nonsense about sex addiction. And then there are those tired old anti-porn rants. Given that sex is essential for life, Mormons might as well be spouting off about addictions to clothing, shelter, food and other essentials. I could tolerate this with lay Mormons, but when our GAs lead the cheer, it just insults the intelligence.
But today I was heartened to know we’re not the only intellectual masturbators out there.
An epiphany: we’re all addicted to air and water! Quick! Let’s all kill ourselves and rid the planet of all this unrepentant sin!
Mormonism lost all credibility regarding human sexuality with SWK’s garbage theories on homosexuality and BKP’s silly masturphobia. And remember SWK’s perverted oral sex manifesto which was overturned 9 months later. Many lives were screwed up and many suffer sexual hangups to this day thanks to these false prophets.
Thankfully most of Mormonism walked away from masturphobia in the last generation. The church has even pulled BKP’s sick circa 1976 talk on the subject. But, sadly, some Bishops still push the issue with youth and warp many lives in the process. When will the psychosis and carnage end?
