Oh F…., Another White Guy!
I was hoping thirty years after the priesthood ban lifted that Monson would break the color barrier in our top leadership and the Q of the 12 would begin to look like the church at large. Maybe he tried and BKP wouldn’t go along?
Am I the only one embarrased by photos of 15 white guys leading our church?
Steve EM

I’m embarrassed by the title of this thread, which shows up rather prominently at LDSelect.org for the time being, if that counts for anything.

Mark,
Point taken and title is now toned down.

Ummm, yeah Steve, you’d be the only one embarrased by photos of Church leaders.

Why should I be? Someone from my ward got bumped up into the 70s (I live in Peru).

Yeah you are. The Lord has called these men to help lead His Church!! who cares if their white, all that matters is that they have been given the authority from on high.

You need to realize that skin-color is not a requirement for leadership. Making a black person an apostle just because he is black is the same thing as putting a white person as an apostle just because he is white. There is no room for that kind of nonsense in the LDS Church and for you to imply it makes me wonder what kool-aid you are drinking.
When a man of color is called to the apostleship, President Monson or anybody else for that matter, will not say, hmmm… he is not white… let’s not follow the promptings of the spirit here.
This article is hogwash!
P.S. I’m not white.

I agree. The color of a person matters not.
