Another Sick Masturphobe Blows a Gasket?

February 13, 2007

Mormonism lost all credibility regarding human sexuality with SWK’s garbage theories on homosexuality and BKP’s silly masturphobia. And remember SWK’s perverted oral sex manifesto which was overturned 9 months later. Many lives were screwed up and many suffer sexual hangups to this day thanks to these false prophets.

Thankfully most of Mormonism walked away from masturphobia in the last generation. The church has even pulled BKP’s sick circa 1976 talk on the subject. But, sadly, some Bishops still push the issue with youth and warp many lives in the process. When will the psychosis and carnage end?

GBH, please recant BKP’s BS before more in future generations have to needlessly suffer.

  1. The fact that most of Mormonism walked away from masturphobia in the last generation is news to me. Isn’t it still regarded as a barrier to going on a mission? Two of my brothers had to delay entrance to the MTC as a result. That was as recently as 2.5 years ago.

  2. Jake,

You bring up a good point that there are rogue Bishops and SPs that since push that old boogey man, but since the present CHI is silent on the issue, they are clearly acting on their own.

I’ve lived in a few places and none of fives kids, two now grown, have ever been asked about it. Not from a Bishop, SP or MP. I know because my wife and I instruct our kids it’s a prefectly normal and healthy behavior and if raised by a church authority, it’s none of their business, and certainly not an appropriate topic of conversation between a minor and non-parent adult.

Given you have to go back about 15 years for the last time a GA publically mentioned the subject and that GA talks regarding masturbation have been pulled from lds.org, I think it’s safe to say the church has moved on from that nonsense. But w/o a retraction, some Bishops will hold on to the old ways, causing a new generation needless reproductive problems. May the prostate gods enact revenge on the perpetrators of this fraud!

BTW, I served a mission in the late 1970s, and even back then my second MP, a nice retired guy, joked about masturbation concerns being just silly.

All I can say is don’t let your kids get messed up by some perv Bishop who doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about.

  3. Steve,

How do you know the gunman was LDS? His identity was released long after this post.

Further, even if he is LDS, what evidence do you have that “masturphobia” drove him to violence?

It seems to me that you have, for whatever reason, a level of contempt and animosity towards the Church that leads to making bizarre connections and accusations without evidence. If you are going to blame the church for the massacre last night, why not blame the Church for the genocide in Darfur, the sectarian violence in Iraq or starvation in sub-saharan Africa?

  4. Hi Tom. Please accept that blaming the shooter’s failure to relieve his constrained plumbing was conjecture and a joke. Perhaps a very poor joke, but still a joke. Hey, until we know more, who knows? There have been suicides and self castrations over masturbation concerns, why not violence against others? It is safe to say a good orgasm very effectively calms most people. My guess is if this poor kid was sexually active or had regularly pleasured himself w/o guilt, it’s very unlikely he’d have done this horrible act.

  5. Steve,
    What’s CHI?

  6. Church Handbook of Instructions. Sorry for the acronym.

  7. One of the most significant changes in terms of its impact on the personal lives of members appears to be one of the quietest. I’ve always been mildly amused that there is no clear reference to this “grievous sin” in the Bible/BoM/D&C/PGP, that story about Onan notwithstanding.

  8. Yeah, only a nitwit like BRM and the Catholics he dispised could mix up Onan’s sad fate with masturbation. But regarding Onan, we don’t have have his side of the story so who knows what happened? The poor guy could have died of natural causes at or shortly after orgasm and been wrongly dishonored through history.

  9. Steve, I’m curious about your statement that talks on masturbation have been pulled from lds.org. I just found several:

I wish the church authorities would be less coy about these things. I just want to know: is it a sin or not?! Same thing with lots of other sexual matters (what husbands and wives can do together, for instance).
