Prudence McPrude, a.k.a Aaron Brown

August 10, 2005

In this light summer vacation season let’s have some fun in honor of Prudence McPrude….

Steve EM

ADMIN says: This thread was originally posted by Steve EM to have some light-hearted, and light-minded, fun with an anonymous persona named “Prudence McPrudie”. Steve invited Prudence to make sport of him in a round of limericks. Prudence initially turned her nose up at his request, but a short while later responded by casting aspersions at Steve’s Mother, which in almost any circle is considered to be innapropriate. Steve’s reponse was predictably profane. The result was a mess.

The Admin has taken it upon himself to clean out this thread, and leave only the skeletal remains sufficient to expose the subtance of the conflict and Aaron Brown’s caddish behavior.

When this brouhaha started, I told people to relax, but as it developed Aaron’s behavior became grossly offensive, and he even resorted to lying to save face. Thats simply rediculous. People are taking this whole bloggernacle thing way too seriously, and this whole episode should serve as a warning to people of good character to not act duplicitously and/or in a reactionary or offensive manner. The ends never justify the means. What you write is a reflection of yourself.

  1. No need to out him? Um, all someone has to do now is a name search on all of the bcc permabloggers on the attorney listings at www.cozen.com and we’ll identify the person. I’ll do that tommorrow if nobody beats me to it.

  2. There once was a woman named Prudence
Who some thought engaged in impudence
    Steve EM you’re a bore
    And your mother’s a whore
I now say to you bloggers good riddance.

  3. There once was a gal named McPrude,
Who in reality was just a dude.
    Aaron the Brown,
    Thought he was a clown,
Til outed as Prudence the Lewd.

  4. Kurt and Steve really think that they’re swell
But for Prudence this is a hard sell
Since each one is a perve
    We know what they deserve
Mark my words: They’ll be thrust down to Hell.

  5. There once was a blogger named Brown
Who considered himself quite the clown
    But the mental cinema
    Of unnecessary enemas
    Caused many readers to frown

  6. Now it looks like Steve’s got him a clone
And this makes Prudence want to moan
    Random John we don’t need
    Your cheap, pointless screed
You need an enema of your own.

  8. ImPrudence McImpudent,

Wah! If you werent so dumb as to use your work account to post and let people like Steve Evans leak that youre a bcc permablogger, then you would still be enjoying your anonymous cowardice. Have Mom change your diaper and apply some Desitin.

  9. Prudy McBrown lives up to his name,
as others he seeks to defame.
    He gushes out turd,
    with every foul word.
Truth is, by their fruits ye shall know them.

    Comment by Kurt — August 11, 2005 @ 3:43 pm

  10. As Kurt says “By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them.”
And his lyrics are just such a hoot.
But I now know this site
Where folks don’t choose the right
And I think Kurt’s the resident fruit.

  11. Aaron,

I’m hurt. I’ve never done anything to offend you. All I did was mention an off color story you once told. This hardly makes me a Steve EM clone, does it?

In any case, it is sad when people resort to blatant trolling in order to entertain themselves, don’t you think?

    Comment by a random John — August 11, 2005 @ 4:13 pm

  12. arJ, don’t take it personally. Aaron is just angry that he’s been outed, so he is taking it out on everyone and everything, rather than suck it up and be a man about it.

    Comment by Kurt — August 11, 2005 @ 4:17 pm

  13. While I am trying not to take this personally, it has affected my opinion of Mr. Brown.

    Comment by a random John — August 11, 2005 @ 4:44 pm

  14. Disappointing? Wait a minute. I was the one telling people to cool it because this “Prudence McPrude” was just a satire. Now I’m getting ragged on because I have the nerve to out the guy, after he has already been effectively outed by Steve Evans? Anyone who has access to post IPs can figure it out, after that its just an open secret. Whatever. Yeah, I guess I’m the bad guy after the way Aaron has acted. Uh huh, sure.

    Comment by Kurt — August 11, 2005 @ 8:02 pm

  15. Folks, Prudence is not mad at all, at anyone or anything. Prudence is shocked that it has taken some people so long to figure out who she really is. Prudence has always known that it is possible to determine her identity from IP addresses, and so obviously didn’t have a lot invested in permanent anonymity. Prudence has been too lazy to even create an internally consistent identity, as evidenced by the sometimes different tone of her comments at T&S vs. Banner of Heaven.

Prudence is bewildered at how a random John would take offense at her poetry, and thinks that a random John should lighten up a bit.

Prudence is not, in fact, easily offended, but isn’t sure she wants to one-up Steve EM on his poetry anymore, particularly given her unwillingness to perpetuate the themes of poems #35 and #42. But on a brighter note, Prudence now realizes why some blogs might want to ban Steve EM (something she didn’t really understand before), and takes comfort in knowing that she could probably retain her anonymity in part, given that most LDS bloggers probably wouldn’t dare visit this site.

    In conclusion,

    Prudence says adieu,
to you and you and you,
    Prudence’s face is scarlet,
Steve’s mom is still a harlot.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 11, 2005 @ 8:54 pm

  16. And my mother is still a ho.

ADMIN says: this was posted by Aaron the BrownClown, who normally aliases as Prudence McPride, but this time decided to feign the penmanship of Steve EM

    Comment by Steve EM — August 12, 2005 @ 3:06 am

  17. Some further research has revealed that the true identity of Prudence has been well known at several blogs for a while. Longer in fact than I have even been aware of the personality. Some of these blogs have been considering banning both Prudence and any other identities associated with her. One can only hope…

    Comment by a random John — August 12, 2005 @ 2:26 pm

  18. Prudence has decided that the irredeemable foulness of the sinful denizens of this site is worthy of ecclesiastical repercussions. Therefore, Prudence hereby channels the priesthood power of her righteous husband and says to the Mormon Open Forum: “Get thee hence from the Mormon Archipelago, ye fiends of the eternal pit, and never return!”

And so spoke Prudence. And so it was.

ADMIN: Aaron, I checked with GeoffJ and he says your will had nothing to do with it. You really do need to work on that heightened sense of self-importance, Brown. Although, come to think of it, you are the one who started the mess by calling Steve’s Mom a whore, so I suppose you can take some measure of responsability for it, but it seems unlikely you would ever be mature enough to do that.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 12, 2005 @ 9:49 pm

  19. Aaron Brown, youre a bigger jerk than I had ever imagined, regardless of nome de plume. You spew your rotten filth onto a blog, and then condemn it for being full of rotten filth. Nice, you hypocrite!

    Comment by Kurt — August 13, 2005 @ 1:58 am

  20. Given that some readers, such as Prudence, haven’t been around for very long, I should probably mention that this whole enema thing is from one of Aaron Brown’s posts about two years ago. In it he described his MTC experiences involving certain cleansing products. I believe it was posted at a blog that is now gone, which is too bad, especially since it now looks like I am just making things up…

    Comment by a random John — August 13, 2005 @ 2:09 am

  21. Prudence wanted to see if she could get the bloggers at this site to freak out at her last comment. Prudence was not disappointed.

Prudence wishes to inform Steve EM that he’s been a bad little Prudence-groupie, because if he’d read her comments religiously, he’d know that she’s seen the Matrix, as evidenced here:
    http://www.timesandseasons.org/index.php?p=2485#comment-87639

Prudence also wants to assure a random John that that Aaron Brown fellow’s enema story is alive and well on the internet, and she could link to it if she wanted to, but she doesn’t, because she thinks a random John already wastes too much time on the internet, when he really should be reading his scriptures instead.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 14, 2005 @ 8:31 pm

  22. Prudence is pleased that her stalwart and unflinching stand for truth and righteousness has shamed the reprobates here into deleting their filth so that impressionable internet surfers will not discover it. Prudence now hopes that the bloggers here will continue on their path to repentance, and she believes they could start by washing their mouths out with soap, reading President Kimball’s “The Miracle of Forgiveness,” and confessing their Law of Chastity violations to their respective Bishops.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 15, 2005 @ 3:49 pm

  23. Aaron (aka Prudence), youre an insufferable idiot. Not to mention a liar (your denial on bcc to being PP was pathetic). You want us to delete this thread so as to not leave it up, so everyone can see you at your worst. We want to delete it do people who arent LDS will not think it is representative of the population.

OK, Steve, I have changed my mind. Aaron’s smug idiocy has given me the will to selectively delete posts in this thread and leave it up as an ignominious icon to his hubris. What say you?

  26. I would like to thank Steve EM for removing his poems.

I would also like to thank Prudence McPrude for successfully shaming the degenerate souls who dwell here into reforming their filthy ways. She is truly a fearless defender of righteousness.

ADMIN says: Once again Aaron cannot restrain himself from using other people’s names in an effort to promote himself.

  27. I agree that I should read my scriptures more and blogs less.

    Comment by a random John — August 15, 2005 @ 5:39 pm

  28. Steve,

Please, please stop your sinful ways, get off the computer, and come back down here and do your homework! Don’t make me have to use the belt again! Those anonymous people you chat to for hours on the internet are not your real friends. You need to get out and meet people your own age. I hear Brother Johnson is taking all the other Priests miniature golfing. Why don’t you go with them, just this once?

ADMIM says: You’re right Mom. But just 5 more minutes, please? I’ve made some cool friends on the internet, and talking dirty with them is da BOMB!

ADMIN says: Holy cow Aaron, youre just making yourself look even worse. Please stop. This thread is receiving a lot of traffic, so a lot of people are watching you make a complete fool of yourself. And, by the way, Kurt is the Admin, not Steve.

    Comment by Your Mother — August 15, 2005 @ 5:45 pm

  29. Aaron posing as BKP. That says it all.

    Aaron,
My Ma is more dear to me
than some GA will ever be,
    and with your passion
    on sex and women’s fashion,
on your persuasion many would agree.

    Comment by Steve EM — August 15, 2005 @ 6:28 pm

  30. Prudence the McPrude is deliciously amused
That Steve, Kurt and John are so utterly confused
Ms. Prudence long took note that Steve could dish it out
Spew forth his childish crap, and each convention flout
But once he ended up on the receiving end
Of snark it now appears that his wounds just won’t mend
So we sit back and watch as these guys blow off steam
And author filthy smut, and other works obscene
I hate to tell you guys, your stuff’s just not that good
Though it sure makes for fun to watch you think it should
be treated as if it is worth everyone’s reading
When in truth its Prudence’s advice that’s worth heeding

Perhaps if you indeed find this just oh so vexing
You should relax and stop your silly verbal flexing
And try to compose something that we’ll find worth reading
Instead of wringing hands and treating us to bleating
Your prose just might inspire, if you’d stop your tale of woe
And then you might appear at “Archipelago”
Oh wait … I guess you can’t, since you’ve been rightly banned!
And when it comes to poems let’s face it you’re outmanned!
Perhaps it’s time to fold, to promptly jump the ship
But my bet is you won’t — you’ll give us more crass lip.
So in conclusion Prudence gives this free advice:
You are all so outgunned, this thread ain’t worth the price!

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 15, 2005 @ 6:49 pm

  31. Aaron,

If this thread isnt worth the price, then why are you spending so much of your time on it? For someone who should be racking up billable hours, youre wasting an awful lot of time posting in other people’s names and writing self-promoting nonsense. You are 50% of the reason this blog got thrown off Mormon Archipelago, but hey, why accept responsability for your actions?

    Comment by Kurt — August 15, 2005 @ 6:53 pm

  32. Prudence is is no way responsible for Steve EM’s wiscracks about a certain apostle engaging in anal sex, nor his use of the c-word. Prudence is pretty sure that such comments were the source of this blog’s being banished to Outer Darkness, and not Prudence’s faith-promoting poetry.

“We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all sinful bloggers, as soon as they engage in a little speaking evil of the Lord’s Anointed, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous attempts to spread their guilt to innocent, righteous women. Hence many are banned, and few are redeemed.” (D&C 121:39-40)

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 15, 2005 @ 7:06 pm

  33. Aaron,

Faith-promoting poetry? Yeah, I guess calling his mother a whore, repeatedly, is pretty faith promoting for someone like yourself. That was what kicked the whole thing off. Steve said you could rag on him, not his mother. You attacked his mother, not him. Yup, thats pretty darn cool of you. Thats what kicked off Steve’s telestial tirade. Oh, yeah, and you also deliberately lied in an effort to save face, thats pretty faith promoting as well. Your knowledge of the Scriptures is impeccable, as always.

    Comment by Kurt — August 15, 2005 @ 7:19 pm

  34. Why, Kurt, Prudence isn’t sure she recalls speaking evil of Steve’s mother! Are you sure she did? Why should your readers take your word for it? Do you have citations? Or are we supposed to believe this on faith?

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 15, 2005 @ 7:46 pm

  35. Um, Aaron, I left your “whore” comments intact above. Scroll up and start reading, genius. Are you seriously going to sit there and say you didnt post them? The 100+ people who read this thread saw it with there own eyes, and its still there for their perusal. Naturally, youre memory is short when it comes to your own faults, and long when it comes to others, just like all good mote-pickers.

Whatever fantasy world you live in Aaron is getting wierder and wierder. I recommend you stop now. There is no way you can get out of the fact that you called Steve’s mother a whore and that you lied on bcc to save face.

    Comment by Kurt — August 15, 2005 @ 7:59 pm

  36. Why, Kurt, how do readers know Prudence actually wrote those things? After all, the Admin has edited so many of her comments — not to mention virtually all of Steve’s — that it’s just darn near impossible to know what is authentic and what isn’t! I seem to have a vague recollection of sharing some of little poetic gems, like:

There once was a woman named Prudence
Who some thought engaged in impudence
    Steve EM please no more
As I head for the door
I now say to you bloggers good riddance.

    Also:

    Prudence says adieu,
to you and you and you,
    Prudence’s face is scarlet,
So says her best friend Charlotte.

I’ve just perused the prior comments, Kurt, and all I can say is that I think it’s sad that Steve and/or the rest of you would refer to Steve’s family members in this way. I think to do so must surely indicate the depraved state of your soul(s). All I can do is promise to pray for you all. I will!

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 15, 2005 @ 8:12 pm

  37. Oops. I forgot one:

    Roses are red.
    Their petals I blow
    When you turn sixteen,
    Please let me know.

How unfortunate, Kurt and Co., that you would turn my beautiful little ditty into something dirty. For shame!

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 15, 2005 @ 8:22 pm

  38. P.S. And why do you keep calling me “Aaron”? Weird.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 15, 2005 @ 8:36 pm

  39. Aaron,

You are a real piece of work. I’ve given you enough rope to hang yourself with, and you have done it. Remember smart guy, I am not the only one to have know youn are Prudence McPrude, there are plenty of others who knew it before I did. You cannot lie about you IP address, and everyone knows that. The funny thing is here you are denying it, after in post #15 you admit it. OK, that makes a lot of sense. Keep your story straight, eh?

If I really had been editing the content of your posts to misrepresent you then you would be screaming your head off and pounding your fist on the desk, not quietly opining over it. Utter nonsense.

But, hey, I am glad youre doing this here out in the public, so everyone can see the quality of your character. Believe me, you are doing yourself more damage than I ever could. So, hey, keep it up, Mr. Brown. Let me reel some more rope out for you.

So, Aaron, how goes your billable hours today? You going to stay late to put in an honest days work or are you going to lie on your timesheet just like youre lying on here? Or are you doing pro bono today, so the quality and effort doesnt really matter?

And, Aaron, there are still a lot of people reading the thread, so its not like its just me, you, and Steve. Youre making a fool of yourself in front of a lot of people. A lot of people I would be perfectly willing to show the IP logs to in the event they were interested in seeing them. So, keep up the good work, and have a nice life.

    Comment by Kurt — August 15, 2005 @ 9:26 pm

  40. Kurt,
Aaron can’t help it. He’s a shyster and does this for a living.

    Comment by Steve EM — August 15, 2005 @ 9:35 pm

  41. Kurt, everytime you spend ten minutes spewing forth your vicious rant of lies and filth on the internet, that’s five minutes you could have spent studying the Gospel that you will never regain. How sad that you have such a warped sense of priorities. I can only hope the Lord gives you a second chance in the next life. If you die an untimely death, and you are posthumously excommunicated for your sin and sloth, I’ll make sure and submit your name to the Temple for re-baptism. No guarantee this will work, of course, but I believe that God may have mercy on your soul. I wouldn’t, but then, I’m not a God. Not yet, anyway.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 15, 2005 @ 9:35 pm

  42. Steve!

Brother Johnson and the other boys are already in the vans, and they’re about to head out to the putting green! Hurry down stairs, quick, or you’ll miss the Aaronic Priesthood activity! The computer will still be here when you get home. I promise!

  45. It is with a heavy heart that I now confess to all the sins that Prudence has kindly brought to my attention. I don’t know what got into me. I can’t believe I behaved as badly as I did. I hope that Prudence will find it in her heart to forgive me. I’m just a bad person. There’s no other way to sugar-coat this. I promise not to make any more comments in this thread as part of my penance.

  50. Guys,

This is getting just a bit ridiculous by all counts.

Go read the Book of Mormon or something.

    Sheesh.

    Comment by Crystal — August 16, 2005 @ 4:16 am

  51. Agreed. I’ve been telling these guys the same, Crystal, but they just won’t listen. The truth is hard, but maybe coming from you, they’ll finally accept it.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 16, 2005 @ 6:48 am

  52. Aaron,

You call Steve’s mother a whore, then you deny it. You admit youre Prudence, then you deny it. You deceitfully post other under people’s names, then falsely accuse me of doing the same to you.

Who cannot accept the truth, Aaron? You lie with such facility and dogged persistence, I would find it hard to believe this isnt a pathological behavior with you.

    Comment by Kurt — August 16, 2005 @ 11:45 am

  53. It is clear that belief is hard for you to come by generally, Kurt. At least belief of the truth. Perhaps Satan, the Father of Lies, the Author of Confusion, has infected your conscience and led to your downfall. When good is understood as evil, and evil is mistaken for righteousness, its fair to assume that you’ve been taken over by the Adversary. My suggestion, Kurt, is that you re-read all the above posts carefully with a prayer in your heart, be honest with yourself about what you have edited in order to falsely denigrate Prudence, a choice daughter of God, and then stew in the realization that you have fallen prey to the temptations of the Wily One. Crystal, Prudence and many, many other concerned souls are following this thread carefully and are rooting for you to experience a change of heart. With your determination, and our prayers, I am confident that you will evenutally see the light.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 16, 2005 @ 5:56 pm

  54. Aaron/Prudence,

You and I both know youre lying, as does everyone else who has followed this thread. I never changed a word you or anyone else wrote, I only deleted stuff. The only one denigrating your character is you, by continuing on with your lies.

    Comment by Kurt — August 16, 2005 @ 6:27 pm

  55. Kurt, please don’t kick against the pricks. Our Heavenly Father knows whats in your heart, and it really does not behoove you to lash out at those who are only concerned for the welfare of your soul. I am fully confident that if you read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year, and spend less time wasting away your life on the blogs, you will have the truth of your sinfulness confirmed to you, as well as the truth of all my words. Then perhaps you will regain the Spirit of righteousness that you once had. Prudence is pleased that she is able to serve as an instrument in the hands of a far Greater Power, and that through her example, you will one day hopefully return to Zion.

    Comment by Prudence McPrude — August 16, 2005 @ 6:34 pm

  56. Aaron/Prudence,

Your Heavenly Father also knows whats in your heart, and hiding behind a facade will not hide you from Him.
