Announcement: Steve FSF Born Again as Steve EM

July 15, 2005

To avoid confusion, I announce here that due to a recent reconciliation I have dropped the handle Steve FSF and am Born Again as Steve EM (Evangelical Mormon).

If anyone cares, for background, I didn’t always include FSF (former serial fornicator) in my handle. It’s a scarlet letter I gave myself when T&S banned me and some bloggers there were calling me “Steve the fornicator” or something like that even after I clarified I was long happily married w/ kids and active LDS. FSF set the record straight.

FSF has served its purpose (yeah, I’m still banned at T&S, but who cares), and the new handle, Steve EM, defines my present rather than my past.

Why EM? If you care, these these links may help.

Steve EM

  1. Steve, I think dropping the FSF is a good thing. I hadn’t known for the longest time what it stood for — but felt that it wasn’t a very becoming handle. Good luck with the new one. And I have your blog addy in my RSS Reader, if you can’t tell already.

  2. Yes, I should have known some of those T&S yahoos were behind this unfortunate episode.

  4. Discussion board drama? Often not my favorite topic.

But when it comes to welcoming a new member to the proud, and surprisingly sparse, brother- and sisterhood of Mormons who actually believe in Christ’s atonement as eficacious enough to get people into the Celestial Kingdom… Well, that’s a topic worth celebrating. Steve (FSF) is dead, long live Steve (EM)!
